Call for Hosting Bids

Dear Colleagues,

We, the Current Research in Egyptology Permanent Committee, cordially invite institutions to submit a bid to host the 25th installment of the conference. CRE (Current Research in Egyptology) is an annual postgraduate conference covering academic research about Egypt, Sudan, and the surrounding Oases from Prehistory to the Islamic Period, and the reception of these cultures in modern times. The conference has been running successfully for over two decades and its 24th installment will be held in Liverpool, on September 2-6, 2024.

The CRE is intended to provide early career researchers with both an opportunity to present their research, and host larger international conferences. As such, we are looking for institutions with a motivated group of doctoral and early postdoctoral researchers to take on the responsibility of hosting the conference. The CRE connects early career researchers from around the world, fostering inclusivity and scientific exchange, and sees a constant stream of new presenters participating in the conference. We are therefore eager to hear from both new and returning institutions that might be able to host us.

You can consult the hosting bid guidelines, which also detail the steps towards organising the event, by downloading this document: CRE Hosting Guidelines.

Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions.
